Welcome to our online “home!”
Whether this is your first visit to our site, or your hundredth, we welcome you and encourage you to learn about our many projects and activities, participate and learn, and give where you can, as we work to preserve America’s rich heritage. If you are a student, consider applying for our essay contest, and if you’re a teacher, look at our teacher’s workshop or help nominate a student for a trip to Washington, DC. If you love history, visit our beautiful Ohio historic sites. If you are interested in America’s citizenship process, look at our participation in naturalization ceremonies. The National Society of the Colonial Dames in America has always believed in the power of the American spirit and ingenuity, and we have promoted the participation of women in all we do. We invite you to learn about our organization. We have over 125 years of service and patriotic activities in Ohio to share with you!

How is NSCDA OH making a Difference?
Mission Highlights
Through historic preservation, service, and education, we engage with the past and inspire future generations to understand the foundation of our nation's history. Founded in 1891, there are over 15,200 members in 44 state societies. We share a passion for historic preservation and through our museum properties; patriotic and educational programs provide outreach to our local communities.
Let's Hear from a Member
Karen has been a Dame for over 20 years, joining as a tribute to her aging mother. It was her music teacher, also a Dame, who sponsored her! As a lover of history, being a part of the NSCDA had allowed Karen to continue her learning of American history and to share this love with so many other history buffs who she meets through this organization. She has served in many capacities on the national Board during her membership and is currently on a sub-committee of the Membership Committee, creating the formation of Membership Affinity Groups. Locally, Karen is the founder of the Society’s 2006 Book Discussion group and leads the group in discussions of interesting historical books of all genres. Karen is still practicing law through all of this!
